Question: Is it possible to run version 3 and 4.20 at the same time?
I have some plants growing in version 3 that I would rather not lose. I am eager to try out version 4.20 but when I install it version 3 resets itself or something cause it doesn’t see my plants anymore. I uninstall version 4 and everything is back to normal. I have installed version 4 in different folders in different locations and even tried using a different account and no luck. Just wanted to know if anyone is able to run both OR if its possible to import your plants from version 3 to version 4, if so how? Thanks for any support and for the new version.
Answer: About importing plants from 3 to 4. If they simply install the new version in the same folder where they installed version 3, their plants will automatically be visible in the first grow room in version 4.20. Or, they can simply copy the three plant files into the new installation folder if they installed it somewhere different to the original version? (Slick email posted by WW)
Question: On version 3.0 I can't tell the difference between two of the fertilizers. Labels are N, P, K, Ca. I'm assuming the N = Nitrogen, P = Potassium, ?K = Phosphorus?, and Ca = Calcium. Does anyone know if I'm correct or do I have the fertilizer labels mixed up?
Answer: Yes, Ca = calcium
N = Nitrogen = Nitrogenium = Stickstoff
P = Phosphorus = Phosphor
K = Potassium = Kalium
Ca = Calcium = Calzium (fire n ice, in fertilizing 2nd)
Question: Hi, how can I make my own seed files? Is there a Program or something else to make them?
Answer: No, when you got a female and male plant in bloom at the same time in the same room the female plant will grow seeds. That's how you get new ones. (Skyer)

Question: When I try to install it up comes something about the system is not suitable for running ms-dos any help would be great.
Answer: Does the error look like this???
"C:\Windows\System32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
Choose 'Close' to terminate this application."
Or
"C:\Windows\System32\config.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.”
Choose 'Close' to terminate this application.
The files are autoexec.nt and/or config.nt. check to see if they are in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. If not go to the C:\WINDOWS\repair folder, copy the file you are missing, then paste it into the C:\Windows\System32 folder.
These files are also sometimes removed by certain spyware and adware programs running on your computer.
Hope this helps. (JohnC)
Question: How can I backup my plant or how can I restart them where they are because i need format and I don't want to loose my plant. I started them the same day that HighGrow 4.2 was release
Answer: Before you format your computer follow the instructions for moving your plants to a new computer.
Question: How do I copy my plants from one computer to another?
Answer: You should simply copy all the files in the HighGrow installation directory (including all the hidden files) onto the new computer and create a shortcut to the HighGrow.exe program file.
Question: I had my photoperiod set to 10 hours, my plants began flowering, so as a test i set my photoperiod up to 14 hours, and they went back into the vegetative stage. Is this supposed to happen, or is it a bug?
Answer: plants only go into flowering when there is less then 12 hours light, and they revert back to vegetative state when there is more then 12 hours light. so to answer your question: its meant to happen (g00nster)
Question: I must format my disk & I don't lost 2 new grow rooms. witch file must move to 2nd disk if I wan a save grow room?
Answer: If you copy your grow rooms (i.e. antique attic.hgb) from High grow Directory to another disk, you should be able to copy them back in at a later date (after format) and then re add the grow room in HighGrow like normal. (zoopy)
Question: when ever I go to install HighGrow 420 it says I don’t have enough room on my g drive and I don’t even have a g drive.
Answer: When installing High grow select full install, you should be asked where you want program installed to, default is normally c:\program files\highgrow, either leave it like that, or change it to a different directory like c:\games\highgrow (zoopy)
Question: How do I add music to the grow room?
Answer: Simply copy your music files to the C:\Program Files\HighGrow\MP3 folder or C:\Program Files\HighGrow\MIDI folder. (Myst)
Question: I'm kind of fresh and I don't know how to take a good care of my little ones...For example, how often should I fertilize them? And which nutrients are most important? Please, give me some advice...
Answer: most people would not fertilizer ant plants until they turn to seedlings then give 1 - 2grams (mixed) of N P and K if Ph drops below say 6.5 give them a little Ca which should increase the Ph, in vegetative stage give 3 - 5 grams of N P K (zoopy)
Some good advice is to start with peaty soil because you don’t need to add any fertilizers to it at first. Its not a bad medium to use just don’t over water it (it gets soggy) and it might be a little acidic because its heavy in nutrients/organic matter. Add calcium to it to bring up the PH if it gets too low. (Nicholai 420)

Question: I keep returning to the grow rooms to find that one or two lights have somehow moved all the way up and starved a few plants of light.
Answer: Is a problem with "plant files" not necessary to reinstall the application, remove old plant files from version 3.0, or just delete plant 2 & 3,the plant 1 work probably proper so we by me. (aby)
Question: I pruned the first plant by 4 in the first room a bit 3 days ago, now the past 2 days all my plants have been pruned by 4 each day, can anyone help?
Answer: I have found a solution to this problem, if you prune the plant that started this (with me it was plant 1 in room 1) it seems to stop pruning the rest, or that is what it looks like in my stats! (zoopy)
Question: I have killed my first plants, so I want to plant some more in the Basement, but how do I remove the dead plants?
Answer: Click on the "Plant Menu" at the top of your HighGrow window, look for "Harvesting" then click on the plants listed which you wish to harvest. (Myst)
Question: Is there anyway to change the background for the current grow rooms? It would be nice to be able to change the rooms from one to another?
Answer: Yes there is a way to change the backgrounds of your grow rooms!
If you click on edit the grow room icon (beside plant name in toolbar) and then look at the bottom right hand part of the screen you should find a drop down menu with all your grow rooms in, select the one you want and then save changes.
One more thing you can only change the grow rooms you have added, not the default ones you get with the game. (zoopy)
Question: my computer was playing up and needed a system reboot so I copied the HighGrow file from c:\program files to a disk and after I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows I then loaded HighGrow back onto my computer and then copied the extra files (grow rooms and plant files etc) the images in the rooms had gone and it said something like NO HIGHGROW IMAGE FOUND and the room was just an empty room. Now I know that you can’t send the file but I wondered if I ever need to reboot again is there someway of keeping the files
Answer: I’ve done it thank you for all the help....in case anyone has the same problem here is what I did....
I moved the plant files out of the HighGrow file and put them onto my desktop, then I deleted all of the grow rooms and then reloaded the up (add grow room) then I just transferred all the plant files back into the HighGrow folder and hey presto it works fine. (jyla)
Question: Just wondering, but do the different soil types effect the growth in this new version 4.20?

Question: Can you put your mp3s into the program and play them though HighGrow? If so... how?
Answer: Yes you can!
You can now copy all your favourite MP3 or MIDI music files to the HighGrow installation folder and have them play back in a random order when you enter any of the grow rooms!
I'm sure that everyone agrees that MP3 music files are MUCH better than MIDI files, and MANY people have sent us emails asking how they can play their favourite MP3s instead of the music files included with this game. Now, your dreams have come true!
This new version of HighGrow will install eleven MIDI music files into a folder that can be found within your game's installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\HighGrow). If you enable the HighGrow music player, you will notice that one of these music files will automatically start playing whenever you enter any of the grow rooms. To stop (or restart) the music, you should simply select the "Start/Stop Music Playback" item on the HighGrow "Start" menu.
When this new version installs, it also creates another folder inside the main folder called MP3, and this is where you should copy all the files that you would prefer to be playing instead of the standard MIDI files. To play back MP3 files instead of the MIDI format, you should select the "Grow Room Music" item from the HighGrow "Options" menu (or press the CTRL+S keys). This will display a dialog box which lists the names of all the music files that can be found in the relevant folders. This is also where you can select which type of music file to play, and where you can enable or disable the grow room music player. (usrhlp)

Question: Ok I have a female in flowering and he ph level shot up to about 8.8 and I can not get it down at all need help all possible any suggestions I tried adding nutrients and stuff but nothing.
Answer: At 8.8 you actually need more fertilizer, not more calcium.......the farther down the scale you go the higher the acidity, the higher the number the more basic the soil is.
If you add too much fertilizer, the soil becomes high in organic matter, and therefore more acidic.......when this happens, the number will drop, 6.5, 6.0 5.5, etc. That is when you use the calcium, to bring it back up towards normal, that being in the 7.0 range. Same thing though, if you add too much calcium, the number will continue up, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5 and so on......that is no good for the plants either (JohnC)
Question: I just Downloaded two new rooms can I move my plants from the two rooms they're all ready in? to my new rooms?
Answer: I know that you can swap plants from left to right or from one grow room to another!
It is as following: The (hidden) files are counted beginning with one,
1 to 3 in your first grow room (Plant01.hgp, left / ...02 middle / ...03 right.
...04 to ...06 in room two, and so on.
If you rename a plant name (by changing the number within the name) you can set it to any position and room, you like.
For example: changing file "Plant03.hgp" (the right one in room 1) to "Plant10.hgp" will put it into room 4, left side.
Got it???
You should have an eye on the Growth Log before and afterwards but under normal circumstances the program will check that and work on properly. Although I had or still have a problem in my first grow room (when I water the left plant, the right one gets the fluid in its pot and vice versa), but I think this problem is due to another cause.
And its always clever to backup all files in another folder... (fire n ice)
Question: I know this may sound silly but I am quite new to this program and I wondered if my plant was never to grow at all how do I get rid of the dead seed? Because I haven’t read anything about it in the help file. It hasn’t happened yet but I have planted the wrong seed and was wondering how I could plant the right one in its place.
Answer: You click on the plants option, and then go down to Harvest. that should take care of that. (draco7326)
Question: I was just wondering, how unique are the seeds on HighGrow? do they honestly have there own characteristics? is there really any difference between the silver pearl and the super skunk here on HighGrow?
Answer: I’m positive there are. They all look and grow differently and some seem to consume more water than others. (Zed_eX)
Question: Is this correct...only one seed of each at a time?
Answer: As far as I know yes the program will only let you plant one of each seed at a time and only import one seed of each kind (Jyla)
